Contract Front End Developer for a client in the Central Austin area
Job Description/Responsibilities
Horn Solutions is looking for a Front End Developer who is skilled in combining the art of design with the art of programming. This Developer will be responsible for the translation of UI / UX design wireframes to actual code that will produce visual elements of the application, bridging the gap between design & technical implementation. This is a contract opportunity for a tech client in the Central Austin area.
RESPONSIBILITIES –
- Building clean UI for software applications & developing new user-facing features as needed
- Building reusable code & libraries for future use
- Optimizing applications for scalability & speed
- Partnering & collaborating with designers & other developers to ensure technical feasibility
- Challenging the team to keep progressing the industry forward through new & innovative ideas to be implemented
- Contributing & meet goals each sprint
- Helping innovate new features into successful developer implementations
- Implementing excellent written & verbal communication skills
Job Qualifications/Skills
MUST HAVES –
- 4+ years’ experience building software applications
- Expert utilizing HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript
- Proficient in utilizing jQuery
- Basic knowledge of LESS & SASS
- Proficient in code versioning tools such as Git
- Experience turning sketch & abstract designs into working user interfaces
- Solid understanding of responsive design & implementation
- Experience developing & interacting with APIs
- Experience writing code from scratch
- Eager to build products from the ground up
- Keen interest in new development
- High attention to detail
NICE TO HAVES –
- Skilled in React & Redux
- Knowledge of how Redux handles API requests
- Typescript experience
- Proficient in frameworks including Angular.js & Ember.js
- Experience working in a startup environment
